At Meden we focus on the follow 3 components:

• Component 1D- Stuart Britain and the crisis of Monarchy, 1603-1702
• Component 20- Democracy and Nazism: Germany 1918-1945
• Component 3- Non exam assessment: Civil rights in America investigation within a context of approximately 100 years.

Assessment

80% Examination in 2 exams

Section 1 – Evaluating historical extracts. 1 compulsory question linked to 3 historical extracts (30 marks)

Section 2 – Essay writing. 2 questions out of a choice of 3. This shows you can use your historical knowledge to make judgements and explore concepts such as change and continuity. (25 marks)

20% Coursework

Requirements

Our general entry requirements are that you will need a minimum of five Grade 5s or above in your GCSEs to study A-Levels including Maths & English.

To Study A Level History at Meden, you will need to achieve a grade 6 at GCSE History.
