Exam Board: AQA

The A level Geography course is split in to three main parts: Physical Geography 40%, Human Geography 40% and a coursework element 20%.

At Meden, we focus on:

• Coasts
• Water and Carbon Systems
• Changing Places,
• Contemporary Urban Environments
• Global Systems and Governance

As part of the A Level course, students are expected to take part in a 5-day fieldwork project. We plan an annual trip to Dorset in the July of Year 12 where students collect data for the A Level geography coursework.

Assessment

80% Examination in 2 exams

20% Coursework

Requirements

Our general entry requirements are that you will need a minimum of five Grade 5s or above in your GCSEs to study A-Levels including Maths & English.

To Study A Level Geography at Meden, you will need to achieve a grade 5 at GCSE Geography.
